Adriano is an actor, writer, theatre-maker and singer songwriter based in Sydney and Perth.

A graduate of NIDA, he has performed throughout Australia, Europe and New York.

 

As a theatre-maker and performer, he has presented work at The Public Theatre New York, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Fringe World WA, Awesome Festival WA, Sydney Comedy Festival, The Great Escape Festival, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Sydney Opera House and The Sydney Writers Festival.

His work spans the spectrum of theatre: cabaret, physical theatre, musicals, character comedy, stand-up, puppetry, improvisation, bouffon and clowning.

A recipient of The Martin Bequest Travelling Scholarship and The Mike Walsh Scholarship, in 2008, he traveled to Paris to study for two years with master clown and theatre guru, Philippe Gaulier. 

Since 2005, he has worked extensively with Sandra Bates at The Ensemble Theatre in Sydney and with Kim Carpenter's Theatre of Image.

Individually and with Holly Austin he has written several hit comedy shows, touring festivals and selling out Sydney seasons.

 

He co-created the comedy web-series ULTIMATE FANJ, which was part of Fresh Blood for ABCiview.

His new play was first presented at Griffin Theatre as NEVER LET ME GO as part of Batch Festival 2019. The play details the onset of AIDS in Sydney and the radical approach by the gay community and politicians that saved more than 25,000 lives- all set to an 80’s pop soundtrack arranged for a choir.
